Investec Leadership Conference

Bertha Centre teamed up with Investec before their Leadership Conference in February 2023 to create educational materials for attendees. The materials emphasised social impact and purpose, and aimed to generate creative solutions in four major social and environmental areas: Public health, Public education, Income, poverty, unemployment and Climate & environment.

I produced all 4 videos:

Public education: Sibongile Khumalo

Sibongile Khumalo is an experienced leader at The Learning Trust, a non-profit supporting South Africa’s after school sector. With 15+ years in youth development, she oversees grant-making, research, and team leadership. Recognized by Mail & Guardian and YALI Mandela Washington Fellowship, she is also a member of the Africa Leadership Initiative and serves on several boards.

Public health : Ivan Swartz

Ivan Swartz, CEO of Valcare, has 10+ years in social impact, specializing in strategy, culture, and team building. He has an MBA, honours degree in Industrial Psychology, and a BA in Communications from North-West University. Previously a management consultant in petrochemical, insurance, healthcare, and manufacturing.

Income, poverty, unemployment : Prof Haroon Bhorat

Haroon Bhorat is a highly cited South African economist serving on the PEAC and holding various prestigious research positions.

Climate & Environment : Stefano Semprini

Stefano studied mechatronic engineering and attended philosophy lectures informally, aiding his disillusionment with society's mechanistic worldview. He transitioned from mechanical design to project management in solar energy before starting a self-directed education journey. Now, he focuses on biomimicry.
