Early Childhood Development 〰️

SmartStart is an early learning social franchise, with a network of trained and licensed practitioners (SmartStarters) who implement the same evidence-based programme all across South Africa.

SmartStart’s franchise model depends on a national network of early childhood practitioners located in marginalised areas around the country. That means that they have incredible stories to tell, not just about the problem we’re facing, but also of the impressive impact their network is making in SA.

I’ve worked with them on a few short documentaries to tell these stories and keep their network motivated.

This video celebrates some of the first SmartStarters to join the program. It illustrates the impact SmartStart is having in these communities by sharing the story of one of the first children to benefit from quality early childhood education.

This SmartStart centre is run by a mother - daughter duo. Learn more about what SmartStart has meant from this family in this short documentary.

This video was produced for the SmartStart network. It aims to motivate other SmartStarters to use a new tool that adds a lot of value to the program.

A big part of the day-to-day work at SmartStart involves training and supporting the SmartStarters around the country. SmartStart uses a lot of videos to ensure that it’s an engaging and productive process. Contact me if you’d like to see examples of the training content I’ve produced for them over the years.
